Experience

 

Transmission Line Design Drafter – Aerotek / Southern Company                         February 2014-Present

I work closely with the engineering team in producing working layouts, single line diagram and line crossing drawings. I also assist in producing any other drawing(s) needed in order to create high voltage transmission

line (HVTL) plans of existing lines and lines to be installed.

 

Construction Engineering Inspector-Engineering Design Technologies         February 2013-February 2014

Worked in conjunction with the state, local municipalities, contractors and sub-contractors to ensure that all ALDOT specifications are being met as required on federally funded construction projects. This includes maintaining a log of all procurement items to be paid for in the project. In addition to ensuring that all BMP methods are in place on site and not in violation of any environmental policies, as well as making sure that soil density, asphalt and required concrete testing methods are carried out properly and within state specs.

 

Drafter 1 – U.S. Pipe & Foundry (Customer Service)                                        October 2008 – February 2013

Drew the installation plans in conjunction with the required specifications and addendums that showed where new ductile iron pipe was to be placed. Working closely with our salesman, inside sales representatives, project managers and contractors I also produced the working BOM needed to ensure that the proper materials and quantities were ordered. I also provided the highest level of customer service and client satisfaction.

 

CAD Technician – Aerotek / Alabama Power                                                                             June 2008 – October 2008

Working closely with the surveying manager, crew chief and various departments I drew the surveys showing transmission lines, distribution stations and the boundaries of newly acquired properties. I also utilized the latest GIS and GPS technology to help ensure that the drawing information was as accurate and correct as possible.
